We could not have asked for a more incredible final at the Australian Open, as Switzerland's Roger Federer, 35, and Spain's Rafael Nadal, 30, faced a battle for ages on January 29 ! For years, these two men have been the best male players in the world but time and injury have prevented them from being in a Grand Slam title game since early 2011. They knew how much fans Tennis waited for their long-awaited meeting and boy did they deliver. In the end, it was Roger who came out on top after a wave of 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, victory.

Roger relied heavily on his backhand during the game and was able to prevent Rafa from destroying his pace as he has in the past. "He did not surprise me," Rafa said after the game. "He played aggressively, and I understand that in a game against me, I do not think it would have been clever to try to get too many long rallys from the baseline. Would have won. "He went for him, and that was the right thing for him to do."

The fans quickly congratulated Roger for his victory, the 5th title of the Australian Open and the title of the 18th Grand Slam of his career! "Never again can anyone say that @rogerfederer backhand is a responsibility for this" weaker "shot won him his Grand Slam 18," wrote. "SLAY KING", another crowned him.
